Cologne is one of the more famous cities in Germany.. known for the “Dom” as well as probably for being one of the biggest cities in Germany, it really is no surprise that so many people want to visit this amazing city. After all, what’s not to love about a culture that mainly revolves around beer, bread and sausages?!

Die Wohngemeinschaft Hotel

The hotel deal I have found you is available on trivago.co.uk. You will be staying in Die Wohngemeinschaft Hotel, which has received a phenomenal TripAdvisor rating of 4.5/5 as well as being awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2014. You will be staying here on a room only basis, but it gives you an excuse to go out and try some traditional German food!

The hotel is situated in the “Belgisches Viertel”, which is really close to the Cathedral – only a 3 minute taxi ride away. This means that you’re only ever 3 minutes away from the city centre, where you’ll then be able to see everything you could want to. As weird as it sounds, the primark building is an interesting one; it has an ice cream on the top of it, nobody is quite sure why… or what relevance it has.. but it’s certainly entertaining.

I would also really recommend making the slightly longer journey to the Chocolate Museum… it’s absolutely brilliant. You start off learning about the history of how chocolate was first made, how they make it now. You then move on through the factory so that you can see how the chocolate is produced. Add to this the fact that you can taste chocolate on a wafer for free and then you can pay to design your own chocolate bar and have it turned into an actual bar! It’s so much fun.

London Stansted to Cologne (Bonn)

The flights I have found you are available on ryanair.com, which bring your total up to £71 per person for the 2 night trip! The flights I have used are from London Stansted on 28/02/2015 and returning on 02/03/2015. The good thing about booking this trip in two parts is that you can change where you’re flying from, but the prices to definitely vary quite a lot. When you follow the link to the website, you will need to fill in your own details for dates and such, so just use the ones I have!

This is a really great opportunity for you to go and have some fun whilst exploring a different city. It’s a short break, it’s a cheap break, but it is 100% worth it. This is definitely a trip worth considering!
