Getaway this summer to the Portugal hillside capital of Lisbon.

3 nights in Lisbon Bed & Breakfast

Combining two deals from Trivago and Ryanair I have put together this bargain solo holiday for a quick break to Portugal’s quirky capital. Hotel and Flights just £114.

Flights are  from London Stanstead direct to Lisbon. For those in the north Manchester is also available though prices will vary. This deal doesn’t include transfers but for a Metro at just £2 or taxi at £6 it’s easy enough to get to the hotel.

The hotel is the Family Macedo Bed & Breakfast. Less than half a mile away from the centre this hotel is ideally located as a base for exploring the city. This hotel scores 4/5 on TripAdvisor, with reviews praising the atmosphere and local knowledge of the staff. To get the best of the city it’s well worth chatting to the owners to see where best to spend your time.

For this holiday I suggest packing your comfy shoes as the best way to get about the city is by foot. Only by wandering the back streets of Lisbon will you find the treasures of local flair. To get the most of this backstreet culture head to the Bairro Alto, where the narrow streets are lined with bars and restaurants and jazz, reggae and soul music bleed out into the streets.

A great day trip from Lisbon involves heading to Sintra region. Here there are natural parks, secret caverns and historic buildings.  If the evening treats to you to a clear sky then head I definitely recommend heading out to the Moorish Castle. This hilltop fortress offers sea views and is a great place to watch the sunset. Day trips cost around £45, ask at your hotel for book online before you go.

With lots to wander and explore Lisbon is a great city for a single holiday. Book this quick city break today.
