What could be more romantic than a luxury Bruges break with champagne breakfast. Famed for its spectacular role in the film “In Bruges” it is no wonder that people have been flocking there to walk the same streets as Ralph Fiennes and Colin Farrell.

This is the perfect opportunity for you to visit a city that should be on everybody’s bucket list. You can only see the offer from Secret Escapes if you sign in, but it’s free and well worth it if you like a cheeky bargain. Train travel is from London St. Pancras International to Brussels Midi, where you can change for the regional trains to Bruges, and it’s very easy to get to your hotel by tram or on foot. The great thing about international train travel is that you save all the faffing around at the airport, and the baggage restrictions are far less strict – so you won’t have to worry about room for all that beer and chocolate you’ll be wanting to bring back!

The Grand Hotel Casselbergh is in the heart of the historic centre, close to the Grote Markt, Belfort, Stadhuis and the Burg, and you can even relax after a hard day’s sightseeing in the sauna, steam room and Turkish bath. This hotel scores 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor. The area you are in is surrounded by countless restaurants and bars, so you won’t struggle to find somewhere to eat. If I were to give you a tip, I would just say stay away from the Market Square for food; the more touristy the area, the more expensive it will be!

Whilst you’re here I would definitely recommend walking around. Bruges is a very walkable city, however I would suggest that investing in a map would be a good idea- the many little old streets can get a bit confusing, so it’s definitely worth your while so you don’t get lost! Belgium is well known for two other things: chocolate and beer. It would be a travesty if you were to go to Bruges and not try either. Definitely recommend heading to Sukerbuyc, it’s a small family-run chocolate shop that sells only handmade chocolates, some of the best I’ve had. There is also De Halve Maan brewery which is well worth a visit. Another typisch vlaams (typically Flemish) experience is some fast food, particularly chips, from a Flemish style chip shop – just look for signs with the word “vrietjes.”

This glamorous luxury Bruges break deal has loads of dates available, so why not book today? I can’t think of anything more romantic…
