India is a country that has fascinated us as a nation for a very long time now. An ex colony of the British Empire, it’s a shame that so few of us have actually visited this beautiful country. This deal to New Delhi gives you a great opportunity to explore the country and learn about a culture completely different to our own.

You will be staying in the 5* WelcomHotel Dwarka for 9 nights, which has received a TripAdvisor rating of 4.5/5 as well as being awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2014.
This deal is available to you on for only £742 per person. This includes your 9 nights 5* Hotel Stay as well as your return flights.

This is an experience of a lifetime, and is definitely worth considering. India is one of my favourite countries and more people definitely need to take the chance to fall in love with it. You will be staying here on a room-only basis, so you will need to find somewhere to eat every day.

What to do in New Delhi

This prospect shouldn’t scare you because there are some really great restaurants in New Delhi, serving traditional meals. Indian Accent is the most popular restaurant in New Delhi, but is definitely worthwhile visiting at least once during this trip. For breakfast you could eat at the hotel if you felt more comfortable there, but if not I would definitely recommend a Cafe called Glenz Cafe N Bakers, the breakfast is phenomenal!

Whilst you’re in New Delhi, there is plenty to keep you occupied. I do have a few tips for you! Transportation wise, you could definitely use the Metro because it is so cheap; if you buy a Metro card you pay a 50 rupee deposit and then top it up as you go, it’s a lot easier than buying a new ticket each time. If you don’t like this idea, you could use the Hop On Hop Off bus, which is also an efficient and cheap way of seeing the attractions that Delhi has to offer you.

Guru Tip: Count your change, it’s quite common to be short-changed at the big tourist attractions, unfortunately giving the nation a bad name, but if you’re careful you’ll be fine!

New Delhi is full of culture, boasting several different temples, one of the most impressive being the Akshardham Temple and, of course, the infamous The Lotus Temple. At the Akshardham Temple you aren’t allowed to take in any of your belongings, however they do have a really secure place for you to store everything, so don’t panic!

If you’re feeling brave nearer the end of your holiday I would recommend going to the Chandni Chowk & Chawri Bazar, because they have some simply amazing street food. It’s dense, chaotic and really loud, but it is the best way for you to experience India as it is meant to be experienced. This is where to go if you really want to learn about the culture and find somewhere that tourists are often too scared to visit. You will not be disappointed and I cannot recommend this highly enough!

There are so many more sights and areas that I could recommend you go and see, but I think your best option is definitely to buy a travel guide before you go. It’s the easiest way for you to have all of the necessary information in one place to help you!
