Set in the beautiful blue of the Aegean Sea, Santorini is a favourite holiday hotspot for travellers from worldwide. Traditional Greek buildings combined with the stunning views out across the water to the various other small islands in the area is what makes this island truly enchanting.

Santorini Holiday

Thanks to this latest deal from Thomson you could be on a Santorini holiday for a fortnight, all for just £324 per person.

At this base price the flights are from London Gatwick to Santorini. Transfers are also included so transport is taken care of. There are also options for alternative departures, including Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham. Prices for these departures are a little more, with Bristol an additional £50 and the other two £140.

You will be staying in the Marianna Hotel for 14 Nights. This hotel received a TripAdvisor rating of 4/5 and is in the top 15 hotels in the area. This holiday is on Bed and Breakfast board, which I think makes the holiday easier for you. You’ll be all set in the morning then have the freedom later in the day to choose when and where you eat, never trying the same place twice and sample some of the brilliant local delicacies. This family run hotel is full of Greek charm and reviews on TripAdvisor just go to show how lovely the staff are here.

Whilst on Santorini you have to go to Ammoudi to eat. Set amongst the cliffs, there are no sunbathing luxuries but the sunset from here is phenomenal. If you wanted to go for a swim you could dive off the cliffs (be careful!) You should also definitely visit Akrotiri. This is a village that basically transports you back in time to the 17th century. Full of beautiful mansions and evidence of what had to have been an affluent community, it is definitely worth a visit!

As for the food you have to try the local food. It is very much like Greek food, but it is so delicious. They also produce some great cream cheese called Chloro, which is also really good with local tomatoes. Either way, you will not be disappointed. This is another reason it’s nice to be self-catered; you get to go shopping for delicious, fresh ingredients!

What I love about Greece is the contrast between the calm surroundings and the exciting flavours in the food, Santorini really does cater to all your holiday needs. Don’t miss out.
