Venice has long been recognised as one of the most romantic and interesting cities in the world. People dream about going to Venice, whether it’s for a romantic getaway or a friends holiday. The place where the infamous Casanova roamed and loved to write about, this is your chance to be whisked off your feet.

You will be staying in the 4* Park Hotel Junior (which received a TripAdvisor rating of 85%) for your two night stay. This hotel is not the most central of hotels. It is situated slightly outside of the main part of Venice, the part situated on all of the canals. This shouldn’t worry you, however, because the hotel runs a regular shuttle into the centre of Venice, so you will get to spend plenty of time there exploring the sites. It is also worth noting that breakfast is included in this deal, making your stay even more relaxed.

Everybody knows that Venice is filled with culture and wonderful architecture that could keep you busy for at least a month, however in this trip you only have two nights to fit in as much of you can. I’ll try and help you out and list some of my favourite highlights to give you an idea. The Piazza San Marco is a must see, lined with bars and cafes it is the perfect place for you to enjoy a bite to eat. It is, after all, one of the most famous squares in the world.

St Mark’s Basilica seems like a natural progression of the day in Piazza San Marco (seeing as it’s right there!) There are of course the normal things like the Bridge of Sighs and punting down the small canals. I would, however, recommend some shopping. Not shoes, or clothes (although it is also the perfect place to buy brilliant Italian designer clothes cheaply) but for glass. Venetian glass can be some of the most beautiful centre pieces that you’ve ever seen, even if you don’t buy anything I seriously recommend going into a shop. There is a really good one just off on Piazza San Marco.

Off a side street there is also a really cool traditional Venetian mask shop. With hundreds of different designs these little gems are a small expense and make a perfect memory of your time there. Whilst you’re there, there are always plenty of masked balls going on, so you could actually use your mask!

This trip is available to you through expedia.co.uk. This trip will only cost you £130 per person! It’s a really good and cheap way of finally getting your chance to go to Venice, and with a 4* Hotel to call your base it definitely is not a shabby option! If you wanted to upgrade your room to a more deluxe option you could, which could include extras such as a jacuzzi in your room!

This trip to Venice is the perfect easy getaway for two. Whether you want to surprise your partner for your anniversary or you simply want to enjoy some time away with friends in one of the most breathtaking cities in the world, this is the trip for you.
