Booking the Anantaya Resort & Spa

You may think that the Anantaya Resort & Spa looks like the reserve of the very rich, but in actual fact the rates are a lot more reasonable than you think. There are loads of great offers on sites such as Trivago. You can even book directly on their website which also has a best rate guarantee and special offers (15% off direct online bookings, anyone?), so it might be worth sending a reservation request form and comparing their prices.

If you’re still needing a little persuasion the hotel have produced a fantastic guide:

SriLankan Airlines is the only airline which offers direct flights to Colombo and they depart from London Heathrow. Other airlines such as British Airways, Emirates and Qatar also offer flights but there will be a stopover along the way. A visa is required to enter Sri Lanka. You can obtain a short stay visa upon arrival but it’s recommended that you apply for it in advance here or else you may face delays – keep in mind there’s a fee of $30 per person (children under 12 can apply for free). If you’re still unsure about about entry requirements in Sri Lanka, check out the Foreign & Commonwealth Office website – there’s plenty of information there to help you out!

Getting to Anantaya Resort & Spa

It’s quite a while from Colombo Airport to Anantaya Resort & Spa, but thanks to the shuttle provided by the hotel it’ll be a very easy journey – though keep in mind there’s a small surchage. You’ll also be be transported to and from your room by golf cart if you’re staying far enough away from the lobby and restaurant!

So there you have it – a piece of Sri Lankan paradise. It’s probably one of the world’s most beautiful spa resorts, so if you need a well earned break then why not! Maybe it’ll serve as inspiration to find your own exotic getaway. And if you’ve been here before then share your experiences – I’d love to hear from you!
