Fancy some time away from home but don’t want to have to fly there? This staycation in Ipswich is perfect for you, Suffolk having inspired countless painters like Constable and Gainsborough, is famous for its beautiful scenery as well as being renowned for its building of Fairline Yachts.

Your Suffolk Staycation Deal

You will be staying in the 4* Salthouse Harbour Hotel, which received a rating of 4/5 on TripAdvisor. It is located on the Ipswich Marina and looks out over the various boats and yachts that are moored there, which is an incredibly relaxing area to walk around. This deal on Trivago means that you will only have to pay £50 per night to stay in this stylish and quirky hotel, which also includes breakfast and a parking space, should you require it!

As for dinner, there are numerous restaurants in the surrounding area of the hotel. If you’re looking for a slightly more expensive night out then you could head to Mariners, which is a restaurant on a boat in the harbour, it’s really good! If you wanted something a bit cheaper you could head to the other end of the marina to a Turkish restaurant called Mahzen. It is a family run restaurant and the food is amazing! My favourite bit is the complimentary baklava and coffee after your meal!

If you want to explore the local area, I would recommend walking into the centre of town to find Christchurch Park which has two lakes, covers a large area for a park in the centre of a town, and Christchurch mansion. You can look around the mansion which has the biggest collection of paintings by John Constable and Thomas Gainsborough outside of London.

If you get the chance I would also recommend going to the pub for a drink, the pub I recommend is Isaacs which is only two minutes away from the hotel and has a really cool atmosphere and is perfect for people of all ages. If you wanted to explore slightly further afield then I would suggest heading to Orford which has beautiful scenery and embodies every aspect of a quintessential British village.

This is a really good deal for those of you looking for a weekend away to discover a new part of the UK, or even for those of you who just need a break from life at home this is the perfect Staycation for you!
