Your first day will give you an opportunity to see what it’s all about. You can visit hundreds of stalls serving up local delicacies such as large bread pretzels, German dumplings and of course the best of the German ‘wurst’ – and why not wash it down with a mammoth one-litre glass of beer? Make sure you squeeze in a ride or two on the many fairground rides and rollercoasters before heading back to the campsite!

The rest of your trip is yours to do as you please. Wake up, enjoy your fully cooked breakfast and head back to the Oktoberfest grounds to visit the many beer halls and attractions you may have missed, or go into the city centre for a spot of sight-seeing. After all, you’ll only be a short S-Bahn ride away! Wander through Marienplatz, visit the Baroque Nymphenburg Palace and go to see The Munich Residenz, the former royal palace of the Bavarian monarchs. Munich has plenty to offer, so make sure you take advantage of the sights while you’re there. It’s sure to be an absolutely fantastic break, just remember this phrase: ‘Bratwurst und Bier, bitte!’.
