Barcelona is the first place where the whimsical brainchild of Spanish artist Antonio Gaudi was able to display his prowess, it’s the place where everybody goes to have a good time and try some tapas, it’s the largest metropolis on the Mediterranean coast… it’s a really great city break destination.
The flights I have found for you are on ryanair.co.uk and cost only £36 per round trip. This is an absolute bargain of a price, so this is a trip that everybody can afford to go on! These flights leave from London Stansted on 17/01/2015 and return 3 nights later on 20/01/2015. When you follow the link you’ll need to fill in the information by yourself, so if you wanted to change the details you could; just beware that the prices do vary!
Whilst you’re in Barcelona you will need a place to stay. To find a bargain I would recommend using trivago.co.uk or hotels.com because they tend to have the best prices! If you really wanted to keep this trip on a budget you could choose to stay in somewhere like Hostal Alogar, which has received a TripAdvisor rating of 4/5! If you booked your stay here through trivago.co.uk it would cost you £16 per room per night, so £48 in total: if there are two of you going that would mean each of you would only have to pay £24!
If you were looking for something a little bit more luxurious then I would recommend something like the 4* Hotel 4 Barcelona, which has received a TripAdvisor rating of 4/5 as well as being awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2014. Staying here would cost you £37 per room per night, so £111 for your entire stay, if you booked it through trivago.co.uk. If there are two of you going, you’ll only have to pay £55.50 each!
Once you’re in Barcelona, the city is your oyster. Naturally, whilst here, you’re going to have to fill yourself up on tapas and vermouth; it would be criminal not to. Traditionally you eat tapas by picking through it with toothpicks and you get charged for the number of toothpicks you use. My favourite place to have tapas in Barcelona is El Jabali, it’s so good and is also really relaxed, so it’s the perfect place for you to enjoy a beer or two and try something a bit different.
If you’re looking for views, then going up Montjuiic Mountain is the best way to get them. Walking does take quite a while, but because of this it’s not a touristy and really enjoyable. The views from here are simply stunning, so don’t forget to bring your camera.
This is a really good opportunity for you to get away for a while and just enjoy exploring an interesting and beautiful city, whilst being able to relax and unwind at the same time.
