Escape for more than a week to Sardinia with a wonderful Alghero winter holiday. Beat the British weather and stay in a gorgeous medieval city by the sea. The hotel has a great location and combining cheap flights with a great hotel deal equals an amazing holiday, right? :)

9 Night Alghero Winter Holiday

I have found a deal to  the Italian island of Sardinia for a great Alghero winter break, letting you explore this medieval gem with it’s honey-coloured stone defences, gothic palazzo and impressive churches and cathedrals… not to mention it’s beaches and easy access to the Riviera del Corallo.

This great package combines two offers from Trivago and BravoFly to give you an Alghero winter break for less. The package includes 9 nights in a 4* hotel with breakfast and flights, all for just £232 per person.

Flights are from London Stansted to Alghero, although transfers aren’t included – check your options here or consider renting a car, as you’ve got 10 days to explore the island. Try looking on for rental bargains. If you fancy to fly from a different airport or on different dates, feel free to amend the search on both provider’s pages and create your very own holiday.

The 4-star Domomea is just a short way from the old town, and close to the beaches. The location is the perfect spot for exploring: a handful of beaches are just around a 15 minutes’ walk away. The hotel boasts a marvellous rooftop pool and one side of the pool has a spa section. This hotel scores excellent 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor plus a Certificate of Excellence, and is the perfect base for an Alghero winter holiday.

Alghero itself is one of Sardinia’s most beautiful and best preserved medieval cities, with a still bustling historic centre filled with narrow cobbled streets, medieval palaces and churches and piazzas full of pretty little cafes and restaurants. There’s a marina full of yachts too, and a long sandy beach that curves up towards the stunning Riviera del Corallo, one of Italy’s best pieces of coastline that definitely warrants exploring. The city has a fascinating Catalan past, which can be seen in it’s centro storico with it’s Iberian atmosphere and street signs written in both medieval Catalan and Italian. An Alghero winter break offers a great escape filled with culture, history and stunning coastlines. Andiamo!
