Hi guys, I found this really good deal for a family holiday to Menorca. The dates match up to around October half-term time, so it could be the perfect trip for you!

Menorca is without a doubt one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Balearic Islands, yet somehow it remains quiet and seemingly undisturbed when compared to other Islands of a similar nature. The beaches of Menorca are largely protected, unlike many other holiday destinations, which has also resulted in the number of hotels on the island being significantly lower than that of other islands such a Majorca!

Great family holiday in October at the excellent Talayot Apartments

The ultimate relaxation package is what this holiday is! The deal includes your Hotel, Flights and Transfers for only £143 per person, this deal is available on thomson.co.uk. The Talayot Apartments are a self-catering facility, which tends to work out better for families anyway because you can buy the things your kids will actually eat, and you can eat whenever you want to, instead of being limited by numbers and schedules.

Despite not being catered, the hotel does have a restaurant where you can buy a variety of dishes including the traditional Spanish paella. Outside of this, there are 6 outdoor pools on the complex! Each pool with a different design and purpose in mind, some perfect for children, others perfect for relaxing next to with a book and a drink on a sun lounger. These pools do also mean that if you don’t want to go out on a particular day, you’ve run out of steam or just want a lie-in, you aren’t confined to the same space for an entire day! With a TripAdvisor rating of 86% and a Certificate of Excellence for 2014, and it’s low price tag, it makes you wonder why you haven’t been before!

If you do want to get out of the local area, there are a few options available for you. One is to go shopping in Ciutadella, which is the old capital of Menorca. It has some really cool boutique shops, like really old leather specialists. On Fridays and Saturdays there is also a market that takes place where you can buy little souvenirs. There are also some really nice bars and restaurants, which make it easy to spend an entire day there. You can either walk the hour that it takes to get there, or you could get a taxi, which should cost no more than £6 each way (click here to see the route).

So let’s tick things off your check list; sun? check!, beaches? check!, things for the children to do? check!, things for the adults to do? check!, a good break for everybody? check! What are you waiting for?
