When people think about Cornwall they tend to think of the coastline, the undeniably beautiful coastline of white sandy beaches that hundreds of us flock to in the summer. What about the rest of Cornwall? Did you know that there’s a UNESCO World Heritage site there? Here’s your chance to explore it.

You will be staying in the Penventon Park Hotel, which has received a TripAdvisor rating of 87% as well as a Certificate of Excellence for 2014. This hotel is a spa hotel, which is situated just a 10 minute walk from the centre of Redruth. It is set in a Georgian Mansion and even has a pub where you can go and have a drink. As well as this the restaurant will give you breakfast, included in the price and on your first night you will also be given a 3-course meal. If you go in December it would be a 5-course meal instead!

This deal is available to you on travelbird.co.uk for just £79.50 per person. This includes your 2 night hotel stay, breakfast on both mornings, one 3-course dinner and a £10 spa voucher for you to spend towards a 60-minute treatment.

In the nearby area there is the house of the inventor William Murdoch, where you could go and visit to learn a bit more about him and where he grew up. If I were you, however, I would be more up for enjoying the surroundings. They’re absolutely beautiful and really picturesque. It’s really a shame that fewer people head to this part of Cornwall. Within the World Heritage Site I would recommend going to see some of the remnants of its old mining past (i.e the old Miners’ cottages or the Miner Statue).

This is a really good opportunity for you to see what else Cornwall has to offer. It is a part of Cornwall that not that many people get the chance to see and it is definitely worth going taking a look. It’s tranquil, it’s beautiful and it’s the perfect excuse for you to get away for a few nights.
