Rotterdam is a typical ‘second city’ – often disregarded for its cool and popular older brother (Amsterdam here’s looking at you, kid!) but this city is truly like no other, and should definitely be put at the top of your bucket list after you see this cracking set up! A seriously maritime focussed city, the architecture reflects the movements of the tides and the times – check out the Overblaak Development and Centraal Station for example! One thing remains the same however: how utterly effortless and seamlessly cool this city is – whether its the art and design (Museum van Boijmans Beuningen – one of the oldest museums in the Netherlands!) the boutique food markets or the sleek and futuristic hotels.. you’re going to want to stay a little longer!

Speaking of hotels..

Luxury Rotterdam Hotel – über chic!

Check out the Mainport Design Hotel Rotterdam, (4/5 on TripAdvisor) where you could be staying from just £56 per person per night – believe me, you’ll get your money’s worth! It’s located on the Maas Riverbanks in the city centre of Rotterdam itself, and is just 5 minutes on the Metro to Rotterdam Centraal Station. If you fancy a trip out, the Rotterdam Harbour is just 6 minutes by car, and the Leuvehaven tram stop is just outside the hotel doors.

ro1 The beautifully designed and super unique hotel rooms in this hotel are a sight for sore eyes; each including an XXL 4-layer signature bed, a whirlpool and walk in shower – and if you select the right details, a Finnish sauna and a stunning spa bath with waterfront views – check out the pics below! They also include air conditioning, a flat screen TV, a mirror TV (so cool, right!?) a work desk and minibar. There is also an Illys espresso machine, bathrobes and slippers included, so your stay will be nothing short of sheer Your breakfast is always included when you stay at the Mainport, which is ‘live cooked‘ in the ‘Restaurant Down Under‘. If you choose to stay for the evening, you can expect to enjoy an a la carte menu in the restaurant – the On The Rocks cocktail bar also does a wicked mojito! ro2 The Spa Haven offers a wide range of things to try, such as the panorama sauna with views over the Rotterdam skyline, a Turkish steam room, hamam, showers with scrubs, massages and body treatments, all at an additional cost. The Life Fitness gym is located just next to the spa, or you can enjoy a leisurely swim in the Wellness Club H20 – both of which you have full access to.

The only thing missing from this fabulous Dutch deal, are return flights from the airport of your choice – you can find a variety of flight bargains through my Flights Fare Finder – goodbye UK, hello Rotterdam! ro3
