Some hotels are aimed at groups of friends looking to party and other family-friendly hotels have great offers for parents and children. The choice of hotels is huge. So that you get a good overview, each day I present new deals for a holiday to Ibiza. Take a look at the different package options and ensure that you get the best deal for an unforgettable trip!

The best time to travel

The best time for a beach holiday in Ibiza is from the middle of May to the beginning of October. The temperature is warm and perfect for a beach holiday. The climate in the Balearic Islands is mild the whole year through. For this reason, Ibiza is also a popular holiday destination in winter, when a temperature of around 14-16°C prevails. In May, the average temperature of the water is 17°C. In July and August, you can expect 25°C water, which stays pleasantly warm until October. The temperature in summer is around the 30°C mark.

Ibiza City, San Antonio and San Miguel – the most popular destinations in Ibiza

Ibiza is the third largest island in the Balearics and is officially called Eivissa, it’s Catalan name. The inhabitants predominantly speak Spanish and Catalan. The capital of the island is Ibiza City. With its old town, harbour, and numerous shopping and party options, most visitors are drawn to the capital. Just 20 minutes away from Ibiza City, there’s San Antonio, which is THE party city of Ibiza. Young people and party-goers let their hair down here. If you’re looking for something a little more calm, then you should visit San Miguel. This small town boasts a wide and peaceful beach, an old port and the stalactite caves, Cova de Can Marca. This tranquil town is perfect for families and those looking for a bit of peace and quiet. Find out more about my favourite destinations in Ibiza here and decide for yourselves where to head.

Ibiza City – Dalt Vila, beaches and partying

Ibiza City, the heart of the Balearic Island, has the perfect combination of nature and culture. This vibrant party city is also the social and political centre of the island. Ibiza City is situated on the southeast coast. The old town is particularly worth a visit with its cathedral, Santo Domingo Church and the steep, narrow alleyways. In 1999, UNESCO listed it as a world heritage site. The old town is divided into three areas. The upper town, “Dalta Vila“, wins you over with old trenches from the Phonetician time. From here, you can also visit the “Puig des Molins”. In the archaeological museum “Museu Monogràfic Puig des Molins”, you can see the remains of Roman and Punic tombs from the necropolis. The defensive walls built by the Moors during their reign still dominate the landscape of Dalta Vila to this day. Why not try some traditional Spanish dishes in the many rustic restaurants. There are also lots of international shops to choose from. After the old town, there’s also the Sa Penya and Sa Marina quarters. Sa Penya is an old fishing district with a lot going on. The party trains goes from here to the harbour district, Sa Marina. During the day, you can go shopping in the cute lanes. Numerous shops, boutiques and markets invite you to do so. From the city wall, you get a fantastic view of the Marina Botafoch and the rest of the city. You can look out to the bay of Talamanca and even to the neighbouring island, Formentera. With a small ferry, you can reach the beaches of Ibiza City. To the north, Playa de Talamanca awaits you with its white sand. This is also where you’ll find the legendary Pacha Club, which is the only club in Ibiza that is open every weekend of the year. South of the old town, you’ll find Playa de Figueretas with it’s wonderfully clear seawater. A little further south, there’s the party beach of Ibiza City, Playa d’en Bossa, which, being 2 km long, is also the longest beach on the island. People are playing music, dancing and having fun here all day long and into the night. Not far from Playa d’Bossa, there’s Space, one of the biggest clubs on the island. During the high season, the room prices for hotels in Ibiza City soar. Alternatively, you could stay in a neighbouring city not too far from Ibiza City.

San Antonio – the party city in the high season

Apart from the party strip in Ibiza City, San Antonio is the party centre of Ibiza. What’s great is that a taxi from one party place to the next will only cost you around €10 to €15. So, it’s not a problem if you want to go from Playa d’en Bossa to San Antonio. Portus Magnus, the biggest port in Ibiza, is found in this former fishing village. From here you can reach the natural coves along the west coast by boat or ferry. Without a doubt you should visit Cala Bassa and Cala Tarida. In the large bay of San Antonio, you’re never far from the beach. There’s a choice of five small but wide beaches. In the evenings you can enjoy a great view of the sunset. Most of the hotels and apartments in San Antonio have a pool as well as other amenities such as sport activities. Although San Antonio is the party city in the high season, it’s an especially great destination for couples in the low season. Here you can walk along the promenade and enjoy time together in the bays of the west coast.

San Miguel – snorkeling, swimming, surfing and sailing

In the white village of San Miguel, you’ll find the small but lovely holiday resort Puerto de San Miguel. The former fishing port is enchanting with its wide, fine sandy beaches. The crystal clear sea is perfect for snorkeling and swimming and you’ll be surrounded by stunning views. There is a diverse selection of sporting activities on offer in San Miguel. Windsurfing, sailing, water skiing, renting a boat, volleyball courts and diving schools – you name it, there’s everything here! Adventurers can go on great hiking tours and walks over the hills covered in pine trees. The stalactite cave Cova de Can Maca is particularly worth a visit. About 5 minutes by car from the bay, there’s a church that dates back from between the 14th and 18th Century situated on a hill. In this peaceful resort, you’ll find a handful of restaurants and bars where you can try traditional Spanish dishes.

A family holiday to Ibiza – the best beaches

Yes, Ibiza may be a party island. But, it also offers Spanish beauty and many great beaches for families too. In these places there are hotels for families with children so that you too can have an unforgettable holiday in Ibiza. Far away from the party strip, you’ll find beautiful bays and beaches. Cala Gracio, just north of San Antonio, is a pretty little bay perfect for a quiet beach getaway. It is ideal for a family holiday to Ibiza. You’ll also find peace and tranquility in Santa Eulalia. The main beach here is attractive with flat, fine sandy beaches and clean water. You can walk along the lovely promenade and take a break in one of the cafes or restaurants. A short 15 minute walk from Ibiza City, there’s the beach of Sa Caleta (Es Bol Nou). Lots of rocks and red cliffs characterise this tranquil place. Clear water and a flat sandy beach invite children and adults to spend the day bathing. You’ll also find dreamy little coves perfect for a family holiday to Ibiza in Cala Salada in the west of the island. Lots of families choose to spend their holiday by Playa d’en Bossa. The flat and vast sandy beach is ideal if you have small children. Here there are numerous stands offering a range of water sports activities. The area near to the old town is also an interesting destination for a family holiday. Search for your own Ibiza offer and have an unforgettable holiday on this Balearic island.

Party scene, hippie markets and more – entertainment in Ibiza

You won’t be bored on a holiday in Ibiza, that’s for sure! The stunning island in the Balearics has a whole range of leisure activities on offer to make your break even better. Music, dancing and partying – but also eccentric hippie markets are part of the island culture here. Let the Catalan feel cast a spell over you and enjoy your holiday to the full!

Party central – the best locations

Ibiza is also known as THE party island. Not many other islands offer you such an amazing party scene. The third largest island in the Balearics attracts people from all over the world. Hollywood stars and celebrities from the TV, internet and the music industry spend their holidays in Ibiza. World-famous DJ’s headline the parties in the clubs. The most well-known clubs are Pacha in Talamanca and Privilege close to Sant Rafel, between Ibiza City and San Antonio. Privilege is known for its huge swimming pool inside, which is a lot of fun. In addition to Privilege, theres’s Amnesia club. Every Monday there’s the Cocoon Party with the best of techno and house music. A rather unique club is Es Paradis in San Antonio. You can cool off at the Water Party here every Tuesday. During the high season, party buses take you to the respective clubs. They stop at certain bus stops as well as some hotels to pick up the party-goers.

Hippie markets and the Medieval Festival

You should definitely visit a hippie market whilst on holiday in Ibiza. The hippie markets are part of the culture in Ibiza. In the 60’s, hippies settled in Ibiza and brought their hippie culture with them. To help them get by, they made clothes and sold them at the flee markets. And so, the hippie culture was brought to Ibiza and hippie markets became a thing. The biggest hippie markets take place between April and October in Es Canar (Wednesdays) and San Carlos (Saturdays). They are highly recommended and a must on a holiday to Ibiza. With 400 stalls, you’ll be able to enjoy a stroll around the market and see all the different products. In the summer, there are other markets in Ibiza too, which you shouldn’t miss out on. A very popular festival is the Medieval Festival in Ibiza City. It attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world, who come here in May specifically for this.
