Destinations in Oceania
From the largest continent in the world, we now go to the smallest: Australia. It’s not the only place that belongs to the continent – you’ve also got the islands of Tasmania and New Guinea too mind you. New Zealand is often included too. But now we’re talking about Oceania really! This region of the Earth even encompasses all of those tiny island nations in the Pacific as well – and it’s essentially on the other side of the world. So if you’re going to travel that far, it’s all the more important that you’ve done your research in advance and draw up an itinerary too. And don’t forget – the seasons in Europe and Oceania are inverted. Our summer is their winter! Destinations in Europe
Europe is the second-smallest continent in the world, but the sheer wealth and variety of destinations on offer more than makes up for that! And it’s not just destinations that are diverse – the climates are too. Arctic conditions reign in in the far north, while the Mediterranean basks in subtropical temperatures. The majority of Europe is sandwiched in between the two extremes in a warm-temperate climate zone. Depending on your chosen destination the best time of year to go can vary greatly. So that’s why I’ve gone ahead and compiled loads of essential and handy information about weather and climates for European destinations. From Iceland to Madeira, get clued up on the weather and plan your holiday like an expert!
Destinations in North & Central America
From the Wild West to the Rockies, North America is just filled with incredible regions that are truly larger than life. In fact, you’d have to keep on coming back time and time again to really explore and discover everything North America has to offer you. Caribbean islands such as Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Cuba promise unforgettable holidays where you can spend your days basking on snow-white beaches with only the sound of swaying palm trees and gentle waves. Mexico offers the perfect mix of beaches and fascinating history, while Las Vegas is the embodiment of the American love for all things glitzy.
Just a little further south is Central America, sandwiched between the Caribbean and the Pacific. Famous for its lush vegetation and superb coffee, Central America offers opportunities for breathtaking adventures that let you experience the region’s mind-blowing biodiversity. Explore rainforests shrouded in mist, swim with turtles or kick back on the beach! Whether it’s Costa Rica, Belize or Guatemala, Central America really will knock your socks off. With my climate tables and handy tips, there’ll be nothing in the way of a fantastic adventure in North or Central America. Time to start planning!
Destinations in South America
South America truly is heaven for any backpacker, adventurer and trailblazer. Brazil, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina boast everything from powdery beaches to colossal mountain peaks. The legendary Andes mountain range stretches all the way down to the farthest reaches of Patagonia and it’s truly a region shrouded in legend. Giant condors circle the skies above colossal canyons, misty valleys shelter ancient ruins… It’s the kind of thing that’s enough to ignite anyone’s wanderlust. The wildly different geography has massive impacts on climate – so if you’re heading to Ecuador for example, where the capital city is almost 3,000 metres above sea level, it might be worth packing a few extra layers! Use my climate tables and weather information below to help you decide when to go to your dream destination.
The best time to go to the most popular destinations
Different climate zones will always bring different weather patterns with them. While the summer months of June, July and August can be pretty balmy in Europe, things will be a bit different down in the southern hemisphere. The same applies for winter – while we’re enduring bitter frost and short days, other places will be soaking up temperatures of up to 30 degrees. In fact some places enjoy summer temperatures all year round! However, just because it’s warm all year round doesn’t mean that you could go on holiday there at any time. This is why I’ve compiled the optimal time to go using the pages listed above.
