We have to admit – a little bit of luxury has never hurt anyone! A bit of fine wine here, an expensive bit of jewellery there…yes, we Brits love our luxury goods. But what people associate with luxury is often a matter of opinion, especially when it comes to holidays. For some a small, chic holiday apartment is enough, whereas others want all of the frills and indulge in a high-end, luxurious 5 star hotel. So, I thought I’d share with you some amazing high-end hotels as well – after all, you just have to indulge yourself sometimes, and if it’s going for a bargain price then what’s stopping you? What the super-rich mean by luxury is a whole world away from my usual bargains, so feast your eyes on the 5 most expensive hotels in the world! I’ll begin with the ‘cheapest’ – and be sure to look at the amazing pictures!

The most expensive hotels in the world:

Penthouse Suite in the Grand Hyatt Cannes Hôtel Martinez; Cannes, South France

Let’s be sensible and start with the most ‘reasonable’ expensive hotel in the world. I present to you the Grand Hyatt Cannes Hôtel Martinez. It’s not surprising that one or two superstars have stayed here, especially during the Cannes Film Festival. The high-end Penthouse Suite costs just a measly £19,000 a night, but for that kind of price you’ll be offered all kinds of luxury of course. Two king-sized bedrooms with silk-upholstered furniture, a terrace with a Jacuzzi and a breathtaking view of the Bay of Cannes aren’t the only amenities guests staying at this penthouse can enjoy.

Hilltop Estate in the Laucala Island Resort, Fiji

This dreamy resort is the Laucala Island Resort in the gorgeous island nation of Fiji – and it’s one of the Leading Hotels in the World. This resort boasts one of the prettiest pools in the world, and of course as one of the best and most expensive hotels the accommodation will leave nothing to desireOf course so much luxury comes with a hefty price tag: one night in this first class hilltop estate will set you back roughly £21,000. But hey, for that sum you’ll have luxirious furnishings, a private cook and a nanny included as well!

Maharaja’s Pavillion in the Raj Palace; Jaipur, India

Jaipur, the capital of the Indian province Rajasthan and about 300km south-west of Delhi, is famous for its impressive architecture – the exclusive Raj Palace is no exception either. In this palatial hotel wealthy guests have the opportunity to spend the night in the largest and most expensive suite in the whole of Asia for about £24,000 a night. 4 floors, 1,500sq.m. living area plus a Jacuzzi, mirrored walls and gilded furniture – oh yes, that sounds like all kinds of posh!

Ty Warner Penthouse Suite in the Four Seasons Hotel; New York, USA

New York City – a city of superlatives. It’s not surprising really that demanding guests can also stay in one of the world’s most expensive hotels here in the city. Anyone who’s looking to spend a night in the Ty Warner Penthouse Suite in the Four Seasons Hotel in New York only has to pay around £28,000. I’d say that costs a pretty penny. But, for that kind of money you’ll have 9 rooms at your disposal, a breathtaking 360 degree view of the city and you’ll be well looked after by one of the private butlers.

Royal Penthouse Suite in the Hotel President Wilson; Geneva, Switzerland

Don’t believe things could get any more luxurious? Of course it can – namely in by far the most expensive hotel in the world: the President Wilson by Lake Geneva. Those of you who’d like to spend a night in the Royal Penthouse Suite will have to pay (believe it or not) around £34,000 per night, because it’s the biggest and most luxurious suite in the world. Madness! You might even bump into the likes of Bill Gates or Rihanna during your stay here. Pampered guests can really make themselves comfortable in the upper floors of the luxury hotel, relax in one of 12 luxury rooms or 12 marble pools and enjoy an unrivalled panorama of the Geneva Lake and the surrounding mountain backdrop. As a small extra up on the top floor bulletproof glass has been installed next to the grand piano, billiards table and your own private gym, so you can feel secure in all your luxury. I don’t think it gets any more extravagant than this!

There you have it: the 5 most expensive hotels in the world – which one would you like to spend the night in? Of course there are other suites and rooms in these hotels which are a little more reasonable, even if the prices are still in the 3 to 4 digit region. However you can always look at trivago.com and there’ll be guaranteed to be one or more amazing rooms – and they’ll seem like a bargain in comparison to the suites above!
