Tenerife is one of the most popular holiday destinations for both couples and families wanting some sun for an affordable price! It is one of the largest Canary Islands and has many resorts for you to choose from. Here you can be sure to get a hotel with a pool, a beach with clear water and white sand. Generally, the weather is always good here so even in October you can expect warm temperatures and the sunshine! Pretty much every coast of the island has family-friendly resorts and beautiful beaches. In terms of activities, you and the family can go to national parks, amusement parks or check out the many historical sites and museums. With such beautiful surroundings, with mountains, beaches and coastal paths you can spend some days simply exploring the area that you visit.
Cyprus is known for being the island with the longest summer in the Mediterranean – how perfect! This means that you will for sure have sunshine-filled days with a holiday here in October. Limassol is a city in the southern coast of Cyprus and has many attractions you can visit or beaches to relax on. The kids will for sure not be bored, as there plenty of nature parks and zoos that you can visit. Whether you want to educate the children and visit historical attractions, or if you want to have some fun in amusement parks! It is a cultural haven with quaint villages and historical sites to visit. With it being such a beautiful destination I would definitely recommend that you take the family for an excursion or tour on one of your days to truly make the most of the surrounding areas.
Algarve is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Portugal. It is ideal for families who love to get stuck in and have an action-packed week. Generally, you should get some pretty good weather in October! But cool enough for the kids to let off some steam :D You should definitely check out the water sports on offer and get the kids buzzing. You could try out kayaking, parasailing, jet skiing or even a jet boat – whatever you feel like doing, Algarve has it!

Marrakech is the place to go if you fancy something a little different to the usual summer holiday. You could get up to fun activities such as camel riding or quad biking in the dessert! You can also find some of the most amazing markets such as the Jemaa el-Fnaa which is a huge outdoor market with all kinds of stalls.
You have to visit the capital of Scotland with its unlimited amount of activities and places to visit. Check out the many popular sights and the kids are guaranteed to love it. You can have a cultural break by visiting the many castles, churches and cathedrals such as the Edinburgh Castle. How about checking out the nature parks such as Calton Hill or Princes Street Gardens. Edinburgh really has so much to offer that you will for sure want to go again! Take the chance to have a break there with the family and discover what it has to offer.
Bath is another must-see city with its huge range to sights. You can have a peaceful getaway and relax at a spa or go and explore areas such as Stonehenge and the caves at Wookey Hole. In the evening you could take the kids to watch a show with the choice of theatres including Theatre Royal Bath. There are so many things to do here that the family definitely won’t get bored and you can relax in this peaceful city.
Yorkshire has many cute places for you and the family to stay in. You can choose from plenty of nice villages and towns that you can stay in for a quiet holiday and historical attractions to visit. Yorkshire has the National Railway Museum if you have a lover of trains in the family. There are also many beautiful natural areas such as the West Burton Falls and the Aysgarth Falls. You can take nice family walks together, or explore nearby towns and cities – whatever you prefer!
I think we all know London is one to visit! With this great city, you can make a holiday in any way that you prefer. You can watch the best shows in the country, visit the most popular museums and see the best shopping streets. You should definitely visit the British Museum and the National Gallery for a fun-filled day learning about all sorts. Then, of course, you should go on the London Eye where you will get the best views of London. Be it a spa getaway or fun-filled sight seeing experience – the family will for sure love it here!
You don’t have to go abroad to get a beautiful holiday by the beach! Head south and discover some of the most beautiful places in the country. Have a week of coastal walks, exploring and breathing in the sea breeze. For a fun day out with the family, I recommend that you go to the Eden Project which is a fascinating indoor rain forest with huge outdoor gardens where you can discover exotic plants and wildlife.
Now, this has to be one of my favourite places in the whole country. There are many hotels that will have views of the lakes and mountains and in ideal places to go walking. Derwent Water and Lake Windermere are two of my favourites where you can get stunning views of the Lake District. If you and the family are lovers of beautiful scenery, nature and walking, then this is the place to go!
Another place that you can guarantee will have beautiful places and cultural sites to visit is Scotland. You can have an action filled holiday with kayaking, hiking and more. Or simply retreat to the beautiful mountainous regions. If you want to visit historical sites and castles, you will be spoiled for choice in Scotland! You should definitely visit Eilean Donan Castle which is in a beautiful area. Escape your busy lives and find a holiday in one of the most beautiful places in the UK by escaping to Scotland.

Berlin has got to be one of the most exciting cities in Germany. It has a crazy amount of art and history that you should discover. Check out Checkpoint Charlie (where the east-west border lies) where you and the kids can truly learn about the city’s history. You can also visit the many museums which give a real insight into the country’s past. Berlin is not just famous for its history, it is also a haven for art lovers and has a unique architecture. You have to add this to the list of places to go with the family!
In the great city of Lisbon, you can expect colourful architecture, plenty of museums and many beautiful sites to visit. You will most likely get some much needed warm weather too! Not to mention the fact that you have both the city life and beach life in one! One historical site that I really recommend you visit is the Castelo de S. Jorge which is full of heritage and very popular among tourists.
We all know that Paris is the city of love, but that’s not to say you can make a family trip there! Of course, you have to go up the Eiffel Tower and get the best views of the city. You should definitely visit the cute cafes and soak up the Parisian atmosphere. Paris has so much to offer that you will be spoiled for choice on what to do.
