There’s no denying that Disneyland Paris® has an enduring appeal. Perfect for kids and kids-at-heart, this mammoth theme park and surrounding studio and village attracts over 12 million visitors per year. So, if you’re willing to splash the cash, wade through the crowds and travail the place “where dreams come true”, then check out what events are taking place this New Year’s Eve in Disneyland Paris®!
Naturally, after spending a lot of money on flights and tickets for the night, you’ll want to find the cheapest option for accommodation. The park itself is about 40 minutes from the centre of Paris, so finding accommodation in the area – officially known as Marne-la-Vallée – is pretty key.
There are several official Disney® hotels onsite. These hotels come with the added benefit of allowing guests into the park earlier than the general public. The area of Val de France has plenty of upscale and beautiful hotels as well as free bus service to the park. Then, there’s the area of Val D’Europe which is one RER train stop away from the Marne-la-Vallée.
If you want a budget option, you’re probably going to have to stay further than these areas. Take a look at a hotel nearby and play around with the price and guest rating. Or, browse Airbnb to see if you can snap up a bargain ahead of time!
Flights to Paris from the UK
The city of Paris is served by three airports: Charles de Gaulle, Orly and Beauvais Airport in Tille, France.
Depending on how close you choose to stay close to the park, you’ll want to find an airport that is easy to access from Paris, Marne-la-Valle or the surrounding area.
The closest airport to the park is Charles de Gaulle (CDG), then Orly, then Beauvais. CDG is served by two RER trains, one at each terminal. These take you directly to Disneyland Paris® via TGV train in under 15 minutes. The cheapest flights you can currently book during the NYE period are from London to CDG, so get booking soon!
From Orly Airport, you have to take an RER train line C, then take a TGV train to the park. This journey takes an hour approximately. There are also shuttle buses which take you directly into the centre of Paris. Into the city, the journey takes just under 50 minutes.
Beauvais Airport is the smallest of the three and is 90 km northwest of the city of Paris. It’s usually the cheaper option for those flying to Paris on a budget airline but prices have jumped up for the holiday season. Only buses link the airport to the city centre and single journeys will cost you €15.90. The time to travel into the city is 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Incredible New Year’s Eve Parade The main event will be the Incredible New Year’s Eve Parade. Watch as larger-than-life floats move through the park in a fantastic display. You and your family/friends can see your favourite Disney® characters plus dancers and performers put on a show celebrating Halloween, Christmas and many more magical moments! It’ll be a real treat for the senses.
Disney Village®: The dining and shopping complex within the park will have its own programme of events throughout the day. You can expect plenty of entertainment, festive food, live music and Billy Bob’s Music Party.
New Year Celebration Fireworks: Come midnight, the park will be covered by a canopy of jaw-dropping colours and lights during the New Year Celebration Fireworks. Spectators will be treated to a bombastic fireworks display that lights up the sky over Disney Lake from midnight.
Merry Stitchmas show: There will be so much going on in Disneyland Paris® on New Years, as the park comes alive even after the stroke of midnight. You’ll be able to enjoy the magic of the park’s attractions like a tree lighting ceremony and Merry Stitchmas show, a laser show based on the film Big Hero 6 and the dancing fountains in the Central Plaza.
Incredible DJ party: Like any good party, New Years Eve at Disneyland® ends with dancing! Make your way to Discoveryland to hear two heroic DJs, Elastigirl and Mr Incredible.
