There are hotels that people want to visit at least once during their lifetime. It’s often not just the destination itself which draws people to it, but the extraordinary accommodation which makes a holiday simply perfect. The following hotels that have been awarded the Travellers’ Choice Award are definitely some of them – after all there’s a reason why they’ve been included in the top 25 of the world’s best hotels. And the best thing about it is: some of them are even affordable! I won’t keep you waiting any longer though – allow me to introduce the crème de la crème, based on millions of reviews in 2015!

5th place: Achtis Hotel – Afitos, Greece

It’s no longer a secret that Greece is one of our most popular holiday destinations. Holidaymakers swarm to the idyllic beaches, the turquoise blue seas, and bathe in the almost eternal sunshine. If the accommodation is perfect as well then there’s nothing getting in the way of a holiday in Greece. There’s one hotel that’s the cherry on the cake which has made it to 5th place  – the 4 star Achtis Hotel in Afitos on the sunny peninsula of Chalkidiki. The hotel is at the highest point of the town and you’ll score not just a unique ambience, but also breathtaking views of the sea. The small apartments and private gardens invite for a cosy bit of relaxation, and you can cool off either in the large pool or on the beach that’s not too far away. Guests praise above all the service of the hotel as well as the homely atmosphere. However it’s best to take a look for yourselves at what awaits you here…

The next hotel I want to show you exceeds almost all expectations of a relaxing beach holiday. After an enjoyable breakfast on the terrace you make your way to the pool, jump in and gaze upon the blue seas – doesn’t that sound heavenly? This doesn’t have to be a dream for much longer, as this is exactly what you can do if you stay at the excellent 5 star luxury hotel Bellevue Syrene! 2nd place: Shinta Mani Resort – Siam Reap, Cambodia

Had you ever thought that Cambodia would be on this list? Good, because I didn’t think so either for a moment, but a look at the awesome 4 star Shinta Mani Resort should show you why its guests have consistently been giving it top marks. Located directly in the centre of Siam Reap, this hotel guarantees its guests an unforgettable stay. Luxurious and comfortable accommodation, a gigantic pool, ideal location and great service leave absolutely nothing to be desired. 1st place: Umaid Bhawan Palace – Jodphur, India

India is rich in history, culture and exciting places which are undoubtedly worth the journey there. Impressive palaces, historic fortresses and important temples are just a few of the things that leave tourists speechless time and time again. One of the most popular cities is Jodphur, which belongs to the famous state of Rajasthan. It’s here where you’ll find the winner of the Travellers’ Choice Awards, based on a number of reviews from hotel guests that have been there already and were amazed by what was on offer: the unique Umaid Bhawam Palace.
